Valencia

Surrounded by endless citrus groves, the third largest city in Spain is a beautiful metropolis that rivals Madrid & Barcelona for grandeur and style. Valencia is an harmonious fusion between ancient and new, combining an amazing history with incredible futuristic architectures that could be perfect as a backdrop for a sci-fi movie. Valencia may be often associated with its most famous dish, paella, but the city is a magnet for any foodie – and for further proof check the stunning Central Market, a real temple to the Valencians’ love for quality food.

    • The Cathedral and The Holy Grail
    • The Cathedral of Valencia is a stunning building that’s worth visiting. Inside one of the chapels visitors can see what is revered as the true ‘Holy Grail’ – it is actually a precious chalice dating back to the 1st century, so at least the time is right… Visitors can climb the church bell tower for impressive views over the city.

    • The City of Arts & Sciences
    • Just outside the centre is this stunning cultural complex that seems coming straight out of science fiction movies. It is actually the creation of local architect Santiago Calatrava and it houses the Opera House and the Science Museum. There was much controversy around this project, but the end result is pretty spectacular.

    • A morning at the Market
