    • Kemptown Charm
    • Many of the gay bars & clubs are in the Kemptown area, a stretch along the seafront just east of the Palace Pier. It is a lovely old area, which is full of interesting buildings and terraces, as well as small cottages.

    • The Palace Pier
    • One of the most recognisable landmarks of Brighton, the Palace Pier – now called Brighton Pier has a rich history and first opened in 1899. Along the pier visitors find the quintessential British seaside fare, such as gaming arcades, rides, cafes and eateries. And plenty of twinkling lights.

    • The Royal Pavilion
    • Another landmark of the city, the Pavilion with its distinctive onion-shaped domes and minarets is a royal residence whose construction began in 1787, as a seaside retreat for George, Prince of Wales, who became the Prince Regent in 1811. It is built in the Indo-Saracenic style prevalent in India for most of the 19th century. Inside you can admire some stunning salons and rooms, richly decorated.

    • The Lanes
    • The lanes are a picturesque and historical area of the city, characterised by narrow alleys and small squares, flanked by small shops and boutiques, as well as bars & cafes. For more eclectic and alternative shopping head to the North Lanes, which have a hippier edge.

    • Brighton i360
    • The British Airways i360 is the newest attraction in Brighton and has been designed and engineered by the team responsible for the London Eye. It is also the world's first vertical cable car and the world's tallest moving observation tower. The platform brings visitors 162 metres high over the seafront promenade for some amazing views of the coast.
